The last year has been tough on our cricket clubs, particularly those from rural regions. But clubs and individuals have stood up and ensured that their club is up and running this summer.
And we want to hear your stories.
Who has voluntarily been out in the middle flattening the square? Who has been using the pavilion facilities to provide meals for those who need them? Who has been running junior sessions to give parents a much-needed break from home-schooling?
After each round of the 2021 Voneus Village Cup, we will recognise one person from a club participating in the competition as a Voneus Village Cup Club Legend.
In 2020, the Village Cup was the only country’s only recreational cricket competition and much of the reason for that is the hard work put in by you, the clubs, to ensure fixtures could go ahead safely. And we want to celebrate the people who have kept the village game alive.
Each winner will receive a £100 one-off voucher to spend at equipment retailer Owzat-Cricket. Note that only those who have made a contribution to a club competing in the 2021 Voneus Village Cup will be eligible for consideration.
