Kevin Iles (Goatacre)

Inducted: 2019

The inaugural inductee into the Hall of Fame, Goatacre’s Kevin Iles is a two-time Village Cup champion, steering his side to the title in 1988 and 1990.

In 1988, the final was replayed at Beckenham after rain halted Goatacre’s chase after just one over. In Kent the following day, Iles picked up four wickets with the ball (4 for 46) to help dismiss Himley for 192 before scoring 91 not out to seal a four-wicket win for the Wiltshire side – it remains the best all-round performance in a final.

Two years later, he more than made up for missing out on lifting the trophy at Lord’s, blasting a 39-ball century as Goatacre defeated Dunstall by 50 runs. He was eventually dismissed for 123, a knock which remained the highest individual score in a final until 2016.
