Peter Johns (Troon)

Inducted: 2025

Peter became the first player to take a five-wicket haul in a final – a feat repeated just five times in the subsequent 51 years – when Cornish club Troon became the Village Cup’s inaugural champions in 1972.

The left-armer claimed 5 for 25 which restricted Worcestershire club Astwood Bank to 165 for 8.

In 1976, he returned to Lord’s and took 1 for 21 when Troon beat Yorkshire side Sessay.

His third and final appearance came in 1983, when Troon where runners-up to Derbyshire’s Quarndon.
