Thornton will face Slaithwaite in the West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire & Humberside regional final after beating Streethouse by a single run.
Spearheaded by an innings of 94 not out by opener Richie Wear, a new signing for Thornton from Bradford Premier League side Gomersal, they posted 194 for 9 from their 40 overs before defending their total by the narrowest of margins.
The Halifax Premier Cricket League club had been put in by Streethouse, of the Pontefract & District Cricket League.
Luke Edwards, who commentated live on the game for Live Sports FM, said: “It looked like a good decision, especially when they were 51 for 4 after 20 overs. It looked like they were going to struggle to get back into the game.
“It turned really when Scott Bland went off injured.
“He only bowled 2.5 overs but he’d taken 1 for 2, with one maiden, and that just seemed to disrupt the thread a little bit.”
Wicketkeeper Ben Weatherhead then hit 24 off 12 balls, including three maximums, while Wear and Greg Soames (34) then put on 80 for the seventh wicket to bring the home side towards a challenging total at the Hill Top Ground.
In reply, Streethouse also lost early wickets and were 25 for 3 at one stage.
Luke added: “Lee Tarbuck was the mainstay of the innings. He was 81 not out, ably supported by Ishmail Patel, who scored 38 off 43 balls.
“Ben Brown got 22 off 12 too, but wickets were always tumbling around them.
“There were a couple of rain delays as well. It was cold and windy, and in the end it went down to the very last ball, where Streethouse needed three runs to win but, in the end, they could only get a single.”
Soames added to his batting display by being the pick of the Thornton bowlers, taking 3 for 28, with support from his brother Grant, who took 2 for 40.

No.5 batter Walters, who is also new to his club after moving from Bradford League side Jer Lane, hit 136 from just 78 balls in an innings which included 17 fours and 8 sixes.
